I am currently a service desk administrator and my duties and resposibilities are; - As part of an NOC team providing support services to the data clients in Uganda, 1. to ensure maximum possible service availability and performance. 2. to provide support services for Engineering and other technical teams. How my duties relate to current and future data networking activities in my country; Companies in Uganda are becoming increasingly more concerned with network security and integrity, especially as these companies become increasingly more dependent on computer networks. Also, computer networks are being increasingly used by consumers and as such Network administrators such as me are increasingly being needed in the country. The organization is connected to the internet through a submarine cable with a back up satellite link.The country is connected to the internet through several submarine cables from the many different ISPs.
