-	As part of an NOC team providing support services to the data clients in Uganda, under the supervision of the Head, Service Desk, providing first line Service Desk support to users.
-	Attending the NOC phone line.
-	 Logging service requests and incidents in the Service Desk system and facilitating on-the-spot resolutions by providing quick over-the-phone responses to routine queries and incidents in an efficient and friendly manner.
-	 Assigning calls to NOC administrators or routing calls to other IT support groups based on established procedures.
-	Managing the escalation of calls by accurately recording the necessary information to ensure effective resolution.


-	Use network management tools like Nagios, Cisco Works, Packeteer, Alvaristar, Ehealth, SCOM, Big Brother  to provide business reports.


-	Investigate, Report and Escalate outages of respective IT infrastructure monitoring tools.

My current employer is MTN-UG and our mission is To address the needs of our customers by providing high quality, affordable telecommunication services, thereby maintaining our position as the leading Telecommunications Company in Uganda and ensuring acceptable returns on investment to our shareholders.

I am currently a service desk administrator and my duties and resposibilities are;
-	As part of an NOC team providing support services to the data clients in Uganda,

1. to ensure maximum possible service availability and performance.
2. to provide support services for Engineering and other technical teams.

How my duties relate to current and future data networking activities in my country;

Companies in Uganda are becoming increasingly more concerned with network security and integrity, especially as these companies become increasingly more dependent on computer networks. Also, computer networks are being increasingly used by consumers and as such Network administrators such as me are increasingly being needed in the country.

MTN-U network generally runs on an Windows environment with specific sectors running Unix systems. The organization is connected to the internet through a submarine cable with a back up satellite link.The country is connected to the internet through several submarine cables from the many different ISPs.

Extensive exposure to various internet services at the work place and constant interaction with the ISP administrators as well as Internet and networking aspects of my Computer science degree have prepared me to attend this training extensively.
